Storage, Privacy & Compliance
How signed consent PDFs are stored, encrypted, counted for storage, and safely exported.
When a client submits a consent form, TatTool generates a PDF and stores it encrypted.
What Gets Stored
- The signed consent is stored as an encrypted PDF in secure object storage.
- The database stores metadata (timestamps, status, and encrypted file references).
- Consent form content is not stored as plain text and is not searchable.
Storage usage
Signed consent PDFs count toward your organization’s storage usage.
Exports And Downloads
Users can view/download signed consent PDFs.
If you export a PDF:
- You are responsible for storing it securely
- Improper storage may violate GDPR or local regulations
- TatTool cannot protect the file once it leaves TatTool
Extension Deactivation (Deletes Data)
Deactivating/uninstalling the Digital Consent Forms extension permanently deletes templates and collected consent form data for the organization.
Before deactivating
Export any consent PDFs you need for compliance and record-keeping before uninstalling the extension.
